The awesome XYbeatZ midi drum generator uses midi drum formatting so using the GM player as your sound source is a good place to start when working with this device. If you have a drum midi file the different parts of the drum kit are mapped to the midi specifications for playback. A good choice when drawing in your own beats as well. You can also find some useful Drum Kits in the GM Player like a basic 808 kit, jazz, rock and orchestral sets as well as percussion. In this example we selected a chord midi file from the Keyboard folder in the Sound Library and selected a Chior Sound to use as a sound pad for this track. It is a bass line so the midi notes are in a low register so a low tonal instrument will sound more natural, if that is what you want. You can select the Instruments in the drop-down menu and they are organized in instrument type groupings.įor example, if we load in the first midi file in the Bass folder from the Sound Library, you can experiment with lots of different instruments to find one to your liking. The Booster Music course with the MIDI files and sheet music can also be downloaded here BoosterMusicBooks.zipĪlso many other MIDI files that work with Piano Booster can be found by searching the web. The first time you run Piano Booster a music folder called BoosterMusicBooks is created in your Music folder on your PC. Piano Booster now comes with it’s own MIDI music course called Booster Music. Detects left and right hand piano parts if held in separate MIDI tracks.A new PianoBooster MIDI music course is included.Piano Booster now includes the built-in Fluid Synth sound generator which is especially useful on Windows at this solves the problem with the Windows MS GM Wavetable Synthesizer that has an unacceptable delay.Use the Piano Booster ‘Setup/Midi Setup’ menu option and then click on the FluidSynth tab and use the load button to install the SoundFont file. The recommend SoundFont is called FluidR3_GM. Please install the fluid-soundfont-gm Fluid (R3) General MIDI SoundFont (GM) package before running Piano Booster. This version includes the built in Fluid Synth sound generator but does not include a sound font. PianoBooster-macOS-1.0.0.dmg – 12.8Mb built on 10.11 El Capitan (SoundFont not included).PianoBooster-macos-10.15-1.0.0.dmg – 12.8Mb built on 10.15 Catalina (SoundFont not included).Unfortunately executables built on one macOS version may not work on a different version and so you may need to try both of these builds: PianoBoosterInstall-SF-1.0.0.exe – 143Mb (with SoundFont).Just download and run this setup program which also includes the recommend SoundFont. There is now an installer/uninstaller for windows. Since this is quite a large file its not necessarily included with the executable.
